What is Forge of Legends?
Forge of Legends is a groundbreaking new D&D actual play podcast that weaves together iconic adventures from the rich history of Dungeons & Dragons with a unique overarching narrative inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest. In this campaign, players will explore a magical world filled with intriguing characters, mysterious locations, and all the elements that make D&D special. Each session is a blend of classic and contemporary storytelling, offering a mix of high-stakes drama, creative problem-solving, and the spontaneous fun of role-playing.

Casting Process
Who can apply to be part of the cast?
We’re looking for passionate role-players, actors, and storytellers from all walks of life. Whether you’re a seasoned D&D veteran, a performer with a flair for improv, or simply someone who loves creative storytelling, we want to hear from you! There are no specific requirements regarding age, experience level, or location, but you should be comfortable performing on camera and engaging with an audience.
How do I apply?
Applying to join Forge of Legends is easy! Just follow these steps:

Fill out the application form: Provide some basic information about yourself, your experience with D&D and/or improv, and why you’d like to be part of the show.
Submit a short video: We’d love to see your improv skills in action! Record a 2-3 minute video where you role-play one of the following scenarios:
Scenario 1: You’re a merchant in a bustling fantasy market, trying to sell a mysterious artifact to a wary adventurer.
Scenario 2: You’re the captain of a ship, calming your crew as they face an approaching storm on the high seas.
Be sure to let your personality and creativity shine through!
Is there a deadline to apply?
Yes, the deadline for applications is September 15. We’re committed to assembling the best possible cast, so we encourage you to submit your application before this date to ensure you’re considered. After the deadline, we’ll begin reviewing all submissions and move forward with the selection process.
What happens after I apply?
Once you’ve submitted your application, we’ll review your materials and get back to you if we think you’d be a good fit for the show. If selected, you’ll be invited to participate in an interview where we’ll discuss your experience, character ideas, and what you can bring to the table.
After the interview process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to join a short series of play sessions. These sessions will give us a chance to see ensure the cast works well together in terms of player chemistry and gameplay style.
Role Expectations
What is the time commitment?
As a cast member of Forge of Legends, you’ll initially be expected to participate in one recording session per month, each lasting approximately four hours. However, as the team and podcast develop, we may revise the schedule and add more sessions per month. These sessions will be scheduled in advance to accommodate everyone’s availability. In addition to recording, there may be occasional meetings or discussions to plan character development and story arcs. While the primary commitment is the recording sessions, some additional time for preparation and collaboration is encouraged to ensure a cohesive and engaging experience.
Will the sessions be remote or in-person?
All sessions will be conducted remotely, so you can participate from the comfort of your own home. To ensure the best possible recording quality, you’ll need a reliable internet connection, a good-quality microphone, and a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted during sessions. We’ll provide guidance on setting up your recording environment if needed.
Is this a paid role?
This is an unpaid role initially, but there’s potential for revenue sharing if the show becomes successful; we’ll negotiate revenue sharing with the cast as a group once the team is defined. In addition to this future possibility, you’ll gain valuable experience, exposure, and the opportunity to be part of a unique and creative project. You’ll also have the chance to network with fellow performers and D&D enthusiasts, hone your improv and role-playing skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a dedicated team. And most importantly, we’ll have a lot of fun playing D&D with like minded players.
What equipment or technical setup do I need?
To participate, you’ll need the following:
A reliable, high-speed internet connection.
A good-quality microphone (USB or XLR) to ensure clear audio during sessions.
A computer or laptop capable of running video conferencing software.
A quiet, distraction-free space for recording. and
A webcam to incorporate video elements into the sessions.
If you don’t already have a suitable microphone or camera, don’t worry—we’ll help by providing equipment; we’ll work with you to make sure you have everything you need to participate fully.
